Good day, guitar lessons. I said good day!

Today I decided to put my guitar lessons on hiatus :(

At tonight's lesson I told Brad (my guitar teacher) that we were officially breaking up. I played some (showing off my best songs [Jolene and Sunday Morning Coming Down]) and we bonded some (mainly over our mutual affection for The Carpenters).

Not sure how long this hiatus will last but for now it's the right thing to do.

Of the small arsenal of songs I can now painstakingly play on my guitar this is my favorite.

Sure - I don't play that well (yet) and don't sing like Dolly Parton but I do my best.

I rock!

Last night was my second guitar lesson.  I learned four new chords.  G was a breeze.  C is kicking my rump.  I may need finger lengthening surgery to be able to play it (but that's not an unreasonable option).

Before you know it I'll be totally wailing on guitar.  My neighbors will be lulled to sleep every night by the dulcet tones of "Stairway to Heaven" and awakened to "Immigrant Song".  Mid-day will be all about Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.  And then I'll go on tour.  And make a billion dollars.  And design a clothing line.  And a line of eco-friendly cleaning products.  And my best friend will be Pat Benatar.  And we'll wear matching headbands.  And...I really need to master that C chord.
