Heaven in a glass!

If I were to get a tattoo it would be the length of my forearm (because I believe in going all the way).  It would be an enormous red heart.  Inside this red heart would read "IAH + sangria = TLA"*.  Because it's true.

What's not to love about red wine and booze-laden fruit?  I've had my share of sangria - in many glasses, in many towns.  Some were tasty.  Some were fruity.  Some were extra boozy.  Some were bitter.  But a select few have been the sangria of my dreams.  Nectar of the gods.  Dare I say...heaven in a glass.  Well, it happened to me on Thursday night at a wee restaurant called Limon.

The place was crowded.  We made our way to the bar.  Michael says "Pitcher of sangria?".  I say "Yes, please!".  The sangria was a total dream.  Oh - and the food was hella good.  Scratch that.  The food was beyond hella good.  All in all - a great night.

*TLA = true love always (for those who don't know)

Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike

Oh, New Edition - how I heart you. For the record, New Edition is my favorite boy band of all time (and I'm including Donny and Marie in that group).

Even now (about twenty years later) I don't miss the opportunity to say "Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike". Sometimes I even invent the opportunity...

Makes me want to have four boy children (paging Jon and Kate Plus 8's fertility doctor!). I'd name them Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike. I'd spend my days declaring "Ronnie, Bobby, Rocky and Mike:
- if I love pancakes who cares who you like?
- if I love pepaws who cares who you like?
- if I love Dog the Bounty Hunter who cares who you like?

Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't have kids after all. Is it possible to call CPS on someone who's not even pregnant?

One of my all-time favorite songs...

...and I have no idea what it means.

My longest relationship

The Smiths and I have had a very, very long relationship.

My first record (yes, record) was The Queen is Dead. I was twelve or thirteen. Paid for with babysitting money.

I would listen to it over and over again. A suburban tween drowning in angst.

And I still listen to it over and over again. A middle-aged woman drowning in angst.

"The hobbit gets down!"

Last night Jemmy, Elsie and I went to see The Lumerians at The Bottom of the Hill.

A super fun time was had by all but my favorite part of the night was when Elsie leans over and whispers in my ear "The hobbit gets down" about a certain small statured woman standing behind engaging in hippie dancing.

Milk

Milk.  It rules my life.  I'm serious.

I don't consume vast amounts of milk (daily in my coffee and in an occasional bowl of cereal or oatmeal).  It's not the quantity that rules my life.  It's the availability and the expiration date.

Availability:
I freak out if I run out of milk and don't have any for my morning coffee (although I always have "emergency milk" reserves [soy milk and/or Horizon shelf-stable milk]).  And "freak out" isn't an exaggeration.  Just ask Loraine or The Tami (if you dare).

Expiration Date:
I feel like I'm always juggling milk expiration dates and trying to maximize them.  I have no idea how long after the stamped date milk is still potable (though I'm sure that info is just a quick Google search away).

For example - yesterday (2.20) I finished a milk dated 2.16.  This morning I opened one dated 2.26.  When I realized I only have five(+?) days to consume this milk it troubled me.  I'm not going to lie to you - it caused me a bit of agita.

Ay, dios mio.  It's so hard being me.

I'd like to chat more about my milk obsession but I have to get up and make myself another cup of coffee (remember - I only have five more days to consume all this milk!).
